Respect doesn’t really deal with caring, I mean it can I guess but I don’t see how.

It has a lot to do with the Golden Rule. If you treat others with respect then they should treat you the same way.

respect I think can prevent violence, but it can also fuel violence.

The benefits are that people will like them and treat them better than they usually would. I think that another benefit is that if someone treats you with respect then you will have a much better attitude toward them. You might also become friend later in life.
